Job Summary – Director of Business Development
As Director of Business Development, your role is to oversee national client-relationship management and sales. The Director of Business Development is detail-oriented and driven to increase company revenue by identifying profitable business opportunities and developing long-term business growth strategies. The role of Director of Business is to find and develop new business opportunities with national clients in the retail and industrial sectors. CenterPoint is a national development consultant and this role is to support that national footprint by building client relationships in the national space as well as in the home office locations.
To be successful as the Director of Business Development, you must be persuasive and have strong business acumen. Ultimately, an exceptional Director of Business Development at CenterPoint is adept at researching and networking to identify potential clients as well as demonstrating excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of company offerings and project experience to identify and develop profitable business opportunities.
- Build solid relationships with national retail, industrial, and developer clients, vendors, engineers, and partners, as well as company leadership, sales, and marketing teams.
- Lead sales, marketing, customer-service, and client relationship management teams.
- Manage key client relationships and work to build new ones.
- Attend industry meetings, events and conferences to obtain knowledge of market conditions, competition, and establish relationships with existing clients and prospects.
- Serve as company representative when attending industry meetings, events, and conferences.
- Propose, develop, and manage strategic partnerships to grow the business.
- Evaluate existing partnerships and sales efforts with an eye toward building on what works and recommend improvements as needed.
- Research, evaluate, and track emerging markets and trends and recommend new company offerings to satisfy client’s needs.
- Direct marketing efforts by presenting business or marketing opportunities to company leadership and suggest strategies to expand the profile and reach of our company and brand.
- Assist in shaping the company’s long-term objectives and determine plans for how to meet them.
- Conduct webinars and presentations to raise the brand or services profile.
- Achieve annual targets of new clients and revenue.
- Prepare all documentation required for requests for proposals (RFPs).
General Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or related field required
- Master’s in Business Administration a plus
Experience:
- Proven business development experience within land development, construction, or related industry
- 10+ years of business development, sales and marketing experience
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Exceptional leadership and management skills
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Strong business acumen

Travel Requirement
Travel is required as necessary (25%-50% expected) to client locations, business development events, and company office locations.
Salary Range
$125,000-150,000 Based on years of experience
